Don’t Buy CBD Without Checking For This One Important Detail

by Neil Mumby / 11 February 2019 / Published in CBD Explained

Let’s talk third party lab testing.

CBD companies are everywhere these days. Everyone seems to be an expert. Everyone has a superior formula for their CBD products. But unless these products are THC, contaminant, and BS-free, then these items could be causing more harm than good.

CBD Guru Is Proud to Provide the True CBD Oil Benefits

How can we be sure we are providing the highest quality products?

Independent lab tests.

This state of the art CBD lab testing is performed by companies that have no affiliation with CBD Guru. We choose these institutions based on their incredible reputation and lack of bias.

We regularly test our products for many factors. We guarantee that each item contains the CBD listed in the product packaging. Many of our products include broad-spectrum phytocannabinoid rich extracts. Broad-spectrum means that there is an appreciable level of cannabinoids related to CBD, such as CBN, CBDA, CBC and more. Each broad-spectrum product is tested and guaranteed to contain these vital compounds.

We understand the important difference between THC and CBD. THC is an intoxicating compound that can be found in hemp products. CBD is a therapeutic compound that does not have a psychoactive effect. THC can cause our customers to fail a drug test. CBD will not. Each of our products is rigorously tested for THC. Before preparing these items for our online shop, we ensure that the results display a 0% THC content.

Our CBD for sale provides the maximum benefits of CBD without any unwanted side effects. The CBD lab test that we have chosen also checks for residual solvents, pesticides, and microbiological contaminants. If the product is meant to contain terpenes, we also utilize testing to ensure that there are active levels of these medicinal compounds in each item.

What’s All the Fuss About?

In this over-saturated market, there are plenty of companies offering bunk CBD. For example, many distributors sell hemp seed oil in place of CBD. Hemp seed oil contains a minimal amount of cannabinoid compounds. To sweeten the deal, they list a huge amount of milligrams in the ingredients. In reality, these are the total milligrams of hemp seed oil and not the milligrams of active CBD. Many people are pushing this bunk cannabidiol. We suggest that our readers be especially cautious when shopping for CBD products sold on Amazon.

Certain CBD companies are misrepresenting, or just not checking, the contents of their products. A research letter that was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association details a study where many CBD items were purchased and tested for there contents. The researchers found some revealing information regarding the cannabidiol market.

Here Are the Product Testing Results:

  • 20% contained enough THC to fail a drug test.
  • 40% contained less CBD than their label.
  • 24% contained more CBD than their label.

Companies who are playing this game are a danger to themselves, their clients, and the hemp market as a whole. Hemp compounds are incredibly convenient, therapeutic, and non-toxic even in heroic dosages. These mislabeled products can cause unwanted side effects, ineffective treatments, and even ruin careers with their high levels of THC.

We recently released an article that details the possible side effects of CBD. You can read this piece: CBD Oil Side Effects And Interaction. The short version of this article is that CBD on its own is unlikely to cause unwanted side effects. When combined with contaminants or even THC, CBD products can create unpleasant results.

But, That Is Not the Worst Part

Recently, a scientific study utilized their resources as CBD labs which tested nine products from a large cannabidiol distributor. These items were shown to contain three chemicals that are unrelated to CBD and were not included in the product labeling.

Foreign Chemicals Found:

  • 5F-ADB
  • Melatonin
  • Dextromethorphan

5F-ADB is a synthetic cannabinoid compound. Natural cannabinoid compounds, including THC, have a very high safety profile. 5F-ADB and other synthetics cannabinoids have a track record of dangerous intoxication and even fatalities.

Melatonin is a hormone that influences sleep cycles and mood. This hormone can be useful in combination with CBD. However, the products tested did not have melatonin listed on their labels. Long-term melatonin use has been associated with headaches, depression, stomach cramps, and irritability. Even though this is an over-the-counter product, and these side effects are not common, it is unacceptable to include unknown compounds in a health supplement.

Dextromethorphan (DXM) is an over-the-counter cough medication with serious abuse potential and health consequences. The effects of DXM are also strongly amplified by the ingestion of certain cannabinoids. DXM has about 100 severe drug interactions, plus hundreds of mild ones. Ingesting any of the above compounds in combination with prescribed medicines could prove to be dangerous.

CBD Guru – Quality CBD with Saftey in Mind

As you can see product testing is paramount to customer health and CBD distribution as a whole. We do not intend to prevent any prospective customers from purchasing CBD. We highly encourage our readers to enjoy the many benefits that CBD can provide. Just be sure to locate independent lab test results before making a purchase and ingesting a product.

Our CBD Guru educational CBD articles is provided so that you can safely enjoy the journey to health and wellness. We want you to be informed, even when we have to report bad news such as the above contamination.
