CBD Oil – Are There Any Side Effects?

CBD Oil Side Effects and Interactions

The popularity of CBD and hemp related supplements are on the rise. Naturally, this increase of awareness had led to many successful CBD oil studies that detail potential CBD side effects and possible drug interactions.

The CBD oil side effects and interactions are very subtle and benign. In fact, research indicates that even a massive CBD oil dosage of 1200mg-1500mg can be taken safely.

CBD Oil Side Effects

These potential studies have not been well-documented. In fact, many of them are being disputed within the scientific community. It is worth noting that CBD Guru has not received feedback involving any of these issues. This indicates that these symptoms may be coming from products that do not contain pure CBD oil. For example, THC is well-known for creating all of the symptoms listed below. Always check your distributor for current CBD lab tests before making a CBD purchase.

1. Dry Mouth

Studies have indicated that individuals may experience short-term dry mouth when taking CBD. This means that the mouth does not produce enough saliva, so the mouth does not remain wet. This symptom is uncommon when taking CBD. Many studies find no correlation between cannabidiol and dry-mouth.

2. Changes In Blood Pressure

The endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is closely related to cannabinoid compounds, has been studied for its influence on blood pressure. All of the results have indicated that proper care for the ECS helps to impact blood pressure positively. However, it is recommended to consult a physician before starting a new supplement routine, especially if you have a pre-existing condition involving high or low blood pressure.

3. Light Headedness

It is possible that these alternations in blood pressure can cause minor light-headedness. Always begin a new routine with a small dose and build your way up to avoid any potential side effects.

4. Sedation

Self-evaluated relaxation and sedation have been reported from CBD usage. In the common therapeutic CBD dosages, this effect is not pronounced. In large dosages exceeding hundreds of milligrams daily, the impact could become more apparent. Build up your CBD dosage over a few weeks to find the amount that brings relief, without unwanted sedative effects. Only take macro doses of CBD under the direct care of an experienced cannabis professional.

CBD Drug Interactions

Many individuals who are inquiring about CBD use are curious about the possible drug interactions involved. To-date, there are no proven interactions between CBD and other medicines. There is, however, a possibility of interaction with a particular type of drugs that are broken down by the CYP450 system.

In animal studies, CBD has been indicated in the inhibition of cytochrome P450 enzymes. A moderate amount of drugs are metabolized by these enzymes and the system related to them. When these enzymes are inhibited, the metabolization of other medications can be impacted causing them to create higher levels of activity from the ingested dose. Other interactions involving this system could cause higher levels of CBD than intended.

For a full list of drugs involving this system, you can check this resource from Indiana University. We want to stress that in clinical studies and testimonial experience this interaction has not created any problems that have been reported. In practical application, CBD could even help reduce the dosages of these medicines without complication. However, more research is warranted. As soon as this information becomes available, we will provide the details for our readers.

For our customers who experience chronic pain or who use over-the-counter pain medicine for inflammation and tension related to athletic recovery, we would like to indicate that there is no specific information indicating a CBD and ibuprofen interaction.

CBD Guru products are independently lab tested and guaranteed to be of the highest quality. Feel free to check out our educational resources and CBD Guru customer testimonials before heading over to our online shop!
